| I was born in Vlaardingen, South Holland on December 29th, 1963 |

My first active involvement in music took place in Vlaardingen, in 1973,
when I followed a three month e-guitar course. 23 years passed with hardly any musical activity, apart from listening once in a while to symphonic rock, but in 1996 I enrolled on an e-guitar course at the Pop School of the SKVR, in Rotterdam. In the same year I also began having regular private e-guitar lessons. |

Between 1996 and 1999, I played in several amateur bands ('Suicidal Goldfish',
'Debris'...) with colleagues or other Pop School students. Once in a while, between 1998 and 2000, I had some private voice training. |
| In
December, 1999, during my last year at Pop School, became one of the
founder members of Alter Ego. In 2002, the name was changed to Portus,
because 'Alter Ego' got the band associated with too many phycho- and split personality groups! |
| My
favourite music genre is Guitar Rock/Pop/Blues and a bit of fusion. I don't understand R&B and Rap. Anyone's Daughter, Ton Scherpenzeel - Heart of the Universe and Queen are my favourite artists, and my top three songs are; 'I Want to Break Free' by Queen, 'Gethsemane' from 'Jesus Christ Superstar' and 'Kiss from a Rose' by Seal. |
| Apart from playing guitar and singing, I enjoy computering and participating in various sports, e.g. karate, soccer, in-line skating and squash. |
| My favourite meal is fish fingers with mashed potatoes, carrots, peas and apple sauce, and my favourite drinks are Coca~Cola, Haefe Weizen and Haute Medoc (red wine). |
| My biggest wish: To live a long, healthy relaxed life with a sweet partner, to be amongst good friends and family, have a lot of money and to be able to do nice things for people who are less fortunate |
